SPANISH SCIENTISTS DEVELOP A 3D BIO-PRINTER CAPABLE OF GENERATING HUMAN SKIN
Spanish scientists from the Carlos III University of Madrid, from the Center for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research at Gregorio Marañón Hospital, in collaboration with BioDan Group , has designed a 3D bio-printer capable of creating human skin that will allow testing with chemical or cosmetic products and transplants in patients.
This group already developed in year 2000 a treatment that generated the whole skin of a patient in three weeks. This treatment is already used in hospitals in Spain.
The results of the development of the new bio-printer demonstrate that, through the new techniques of 3D printing, human skin can be reproduced.
3D bioprint uses biotin. In skin-creation technology instead of cartridges with colored inks, syringes with different components are used.
AMAZON HAS THE PATENT OF YOUR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
Amazon has already the patent to develop a new model of autonomous vehicle to automate its logistics and delivery service.
The company proposes a solution for the problem of reversible rails. The vehicles developed by Amazon will be connected by a wireless network to a management system that will inform in real time about the direction of the roads through which they would drive.
Currently, the main delivery automation system is with the use of small drones for the distribution of packages with a maximum weight of 2.3 kg. The goal is to deliver the product to the customer in less than 30 minutes. Amazon is developing this program in the United States, United Kingdom, Israel and Austria.
THE COLD FRONT IN SPAIN LEAVES THE UNITED KINGDOM WITHOUT ANY VEGETABLES
The cold wave that Spain experienced last week has been affecting mainly the United Kingdom. Some supermarkets have run out of products like lettuce, tomatoes, eggplants or peppers. As a result, prices have risen between 25% to 40%.
Some supermarkets have had to obtain the products in the United States. However, British distributors have announced that they expect the situation to improve in a short time.
GERMANY WANTS WOMEN TO EARN THE SAME AS MEN
On January 11th, the federal government of Germany supported the creation of a law of transparency so that workers can denounce their bosses if no measures are taken to stop the inequality between the salaries that a man and a woman receive for doing the same job.
This plan will force companies to report on their salary situation to avoid gender discrimination in pay.
The purpose of this law is for women to know if they receive a fair wage. The bill will be processed for approval in the German federal parliament before September.
